I feel very strongly this service can be very helpful to so many seniors, especially those that have multiple chronic disease states and have accumulated a very long medication list over the years. It is not uncommon for me to see elderly patients on 20, or more medications. This is just not safe, and it should not be acceptable. Our current healthcare system does not provide the time, or the specialty knowledge that our seniors need with their primary care providers. It's not the providers fault, I'm not blaming your primary care provider in any way, it's the systems fault. The elderly population get a lot of medical care, they get the most care of any group. I, as well as many other geriatric specialists, feel they get too much medical care, and not the right kind of care. We need more conversations about what is important to each person, and to establish individualized goals of care. ​
